As much criticism as I have towards Gamefreak and the Pokemon-games of the past 15 years ... at least they're looking at the best to get better. This is an actual image from the recent Pokemon-leak ("FreakLeak") used to pitch one of the upcoming Pokemon-games.
1. I just finished a rewatch of "Scrapped Princess". If you want to know what a medieval fantasy-RPG made by Monolith Soft feels, give this anime a try. It's really great.
2. New PC made new troubles. Waiting for another round of replacement components, sigh. Until then, no new videos, sigh. At this point let's takes bets: What will happen next, my next video or Nintendo revealing Monolith Soft's next game? (I'd love to lose that bet!)
just a quick notification: My PC died, currently in he process of replacing parts. It has been a long time since the last video and I had planned to make a new once several weeks ago, text already written and all, but without the PC I can't edit videos.
Fwiw, I finally beat another super boss in Xenoblade X today, now if only this damn Telethia would go down ...
Here's hoping we'll get some new Monolith Soft-announcement from a Not-E3 Direct this month. But I'm happy anyway, finally will be able to start Xenoblade X: Definitive Edition, which wasn't possible until now because I had sold my Switch already end of last year - yeah, I was more optimistic about when Switch 2 would launch then ^^
Anyway, I have a video in the making, but there's no rush for it. And hopefully I'll be able to postpone it in favor of a video about some new announcements.
Hey guys, time to celebrate! According to a Xenoblade X-AMA on Reddit, it appears that Monolith Soft did fix the biggest flaw of the game with Definitive Edition: We can still jump with skells even after acquiring the flight module! Clicking the shoulder button once makes you jump, a double-click starts flying. And for those who prefered the old style, you can change it in the settings menu!
That's all, just wanted to spread the happy news :D Almost there, everyone!
bad news: I think I just discovered a fatal flaw in my "The Complete Xenoblade Timeline"-video upon spontaneously deciding to rewatch it. Feels bad :( I guess it could still work with some caveats, but it'd be extremely unlikely to be the case. I'll explain the mistake I made in the following, SPOILER:
SPOILER:
I stated in the video that Elma arrived on "New Earth" where she warned people and started a 2nd Project Exodus. However, and this is my big mistake, the end of "Future Redeemed" clearly shows Elma (or someone) arrive on the "Recombined Earth", not a new one.
So, unless Takahashi has Elma visit "Recombined Earth", then has her exist for thousands of years, then has her visit "New Earth", it's pretty likely my theory doesn't match up anymore. Tbh, I'm surprised neither myself nor anyone else has noticed this big flaw!
I will try to think about it all some more, about which parts can be salvaged (I still think it's likely that Origin turned Earth into Mira OR is at the very least the cause of Mira's existence), and then we'll see how that goes. If I can come up with something I'm really confident in, I might do an updated video. But until then you now know what's going on. Time for your theories!
bye bye
Edit:
The only way my theory could stay alive is if the cut here in "Future Redeemed"'s ending cutscene that happens at 4:27 is actually a troll-move by Takahashi and switches from "Recombined Earth" to "New Earth" without telling us. But that's a high dose of copium on my part, lol.
There's actually one more thing I think newcomers to Xenoblade X should know before getting into the game. Small thing, but I don't have video material to show it, so this post has got to be it:
When the game starts, it has the camera set in the way that it automatically re-centers. This is super annoying when you want to run in one direction, but watch the beautiful environment in another direction.
You can turn this off in the options menu! Was the first thing I did when started the game on Wii U back then and everything "felt off". With auto-re-centering deactivated, the camera will stay in place however way you put it, which gives you 100% control of the view.
A world made of disconnected, floating islands with an endless abyss beneath them. Hmmmm, I wonder which Xenoblade-game that released in 2022 ALSO features such world design ...
PS: Fantastic trailer for Xenoblade X! The new content looks amazing.
